Camp Tikvah for Children with Autism
Camp Tikvah is the only Autism inclusion/integration summer day camp of its kind in Western North Carolina. Tikvah enables children on the autism spectrum to enjoy the fun and community of summer camp at the JCC!
In Camp Tikvah, campers ages 6-12 participate in an individually monitored and highly structured program from 9 AM – 3:30 PM. Each one-week session runs interwoven with Camp Ruach, which enables Tikvah campers to participate in as many peer activities as are individually appropriate.
Specially-trained counselors monitor each camper’s sensory environment to help facilitate communication, socialization, and of course, community and fun! We strive to provide a 1:1 staff to child ratio at Camp Tikvah.
Camp Tikvah is open to ages 6-12. To ensure it is the right setting for each child, families must be interviewed before registration is confirmed. Space is limited to 3 campers per week.
For more information or to arrange an interview, contact Camp Ruach Director Daniel Tuxedo Smedley at 828-253-0701 ext. 107
