Around 150 adults and children indulged in syrupy, buttery pancakes during the Asheville JCC’s Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on Sunday, February 16 in the JCC gymnasium. More than $500 was raised for the Shalom Children’s Center, the JCC’s 5-star early childhood education program that offers high-quality care and learning for children ages 6-weeks-old through pre-kindergarten.
Hundreds of pancakes – plain, chocolate chip, blueberry and gluten-free – were consumed, along with fruit salad, smoothies and other breakfast items. Children enjoyed a bounce house, corn hole, pingpong and face painting.
Thanks to JCC staff members and to volunteers Joe Emison, Elaine Fugelsang, Melissa Garrett Hall, Alison Gooding, Kevin Jones, Tracy Levi, Chrissy Lindgren, David Rasch and David Whitehill, who worked Saturday and Sunday to prepare food and drinks, setting up and cleaning up. Thanks also to sponsors Earth Fare and Par-T- Perfect.
