Adrienne’s bio:
Adrienne Kort recently concluded her term as president of the board of directors of Asheville JCC, but her journey there was less than conventional. She was born a Southern Baptist in the very center of the great state of Louisiana, near the banks of the Red River. Raised Baptist with faith, family and community, she is the oldest daughter of the church choir director. She attended a Baptist college, Mars Hill, in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina, where she sang in the choir at First Baptist Church. She excelled as
the development director of the local Arts Council before starting a successful full-service retail florist, Blossoms at Biltmore Park, where she still works full time.
Adrienne’s journey to Judaism began with a Jewish boyfriend, sprouted while hosting Shabbat dinners, and
developed through her commitment to raising her children Jewish. For the last five years, Adrienne has served
Asheville JCC’s board, most recently as its president. She has held many other volunteer positions, but she is most proud of her two beautiful, Jewish girls, Chloe and Claire.
