CONGRATULATIONS TO THE ALSUP FAMILY!!!
Dawn has a new baby brother named Samuel William Alsup;
born Wednesday, October 15 weighing 7 lbs and measuring 19 inches long.
We had quite an exciting and busy week! Monday we constructed edible sukkahs out of graham crackers, pretzel sticks, frosting, and fruit gummies. Everyone was able to eat their sukkahs before we went outside. See the pictures below!
Tuesday was a bit out of the ordinary. As you know, there were 2 tornado watch warnings back to back, so Keshet spent the day in the main building. Everyone had a blast running around in the gym, riding bikes, and playing in a new environment. Some Keshet Kids even went to play with the babies from Hilde’s House. I’m sure everyone was worn out by the end of the day!
Wednesday we walked to Congregation Beth HaTephila to learn about the Torah. We were able to march around the synogogue with miniature Torahs and Israeli flags. This is a tradition called Hakafot, a ceremony on Simchat Torah and on other occasions in which members of a synagogue congregation carry Torah scrolls around the synagogue seven or more times.
Thursday we welcomed back Miri, our movement specialist, from Israel and played some obstacle course games with cones in the gym. We were able to encourage listening skills as the Keshet Kids played. We also made scrolls, just like the Torahs we saw at the Synogogue, and each child got to write in their scroll with a “feather quill!”
Friday we had Shabbat with Penny and and spent a lot of time outside enjoying the beautiful weather!
We would like to thank all of the families who came on Sunday to help us begin the revamping of the preschool playground. What a great turnout! Your help was greatly appreciated. If anyone else is interested in being a part of the Playground Committee, please let one of us know.
