Asher Seyum, the Israeli consul general to Gondar, Ethiopia, will give a talk at Congregation Beth Israel on Tuesday, March 11, during which he will give a first-hand account of the rescue efforts that brought thousands of Ethiopian Jews to Israel.
Seyum will deliver his talk, “Rescue and Redemption: Reflections on Ethiopian Jewry – Past, Present and Future,” starting at 7:30 p.m. He will share his personal experiences of being airlifted to Israel and, as consul general, give an update as to the on-the-ground status today in Gondar.
