On Thursday (10/20) the JCC’s Construction Committee had a bi-weekly meeting with the architects at Clark Nexsen and the construction management team from Beverly Grant. They informed us that we are currently waiting to hear back from the City of Asheville regarding our permit for the locker room renovations. We expect news from the City early next week.
Assuming all goes well and the permit is issued at that time, work on demolition of the locker rooms is set to begin on or near Monday, October 31st. Ryan Boyle from Beverly Grant also let us know that the first two weeks will be very noisy due to cutting of concrete. We will make sure that this doesn’t happen during naptime or other sensitive times of day.
Please see below details of where the construction crew will access the site, where the construction dumpster will be placed, and which parking spaces will be held for construction needs.
We are now in the final phases of designing our new pool and pool building. There are many small decisions to make regarding things like where certain walls and doors will be placed, different kinds of materials and finishes we would like, where and how big the pool deck areas will be, what the landscaping will look like, etc. Everyone is working hard to get this accomplished, knowing that we plan to open the new pool on Memorial Day!
