We are so thrilled to announce that the BJH Foundation for Senior Services has awarded the Asheville JCC a grant in the amount of $10,000 to help fund a new program called the “JCC Volunteer Corps.”
This grant will allow the JCC to hire a part-time Volunteer Coordinator who will work with JCC program directors, Jewish Family Services, local synagogues, and other community agencies to identify and maintain an up-to-date list of volunteer needs in order to find appropriate matches. The JCC will recruit, train, place, and provide ongoing follow-up with volunteers, matching their interests to volunteer opportunities at the JCC and other Jewish and non-Jewish agencies in the Asheville area. Opportunities for volunteers to socialize and work together will also be part of the program.
