Receptionist – Aquatics

Pay Rate (hourly): $14.00/hr
Schedule: Monday thru Thursday 2pm-8:30pm, Friday 12-6:30pm

Job Summary: The Aquatics Receptionist, under the supervision of the Aquatics and Wellness Director, shares in the JCC’s commitment to the highest quality of programs while maintaining excellent customer service. The receptionist is the central point of connection between the JCC and all aquatics program participants. The receptionist supports the mission of the JCC by ensuring that every individual using the JCC pool receives a warm welcome while also ensuring that a safe and secure environment is maintained at all times.
Principal Responsibilities:
JCC Member & Aquatics Programs Engagement
- The Aquatics Receptionist is the welcoming “face” of the JCC and Jewish community to all who make contact with the organization through our aquatic’s programs. Above all, the AA creates a sense of belonging among JCC members and the greater community, encourages deeper engagement, and promptly acknowledges and addresses all member/community questions and concerns
- Stay informed about programs and schedules in order to respond to JCC membership and Aquatics program inquiries; help to orient new and prospective Aquatics program participants
- Assist in processing of JCC annual memberships, including new memberships and renewals
- Process enrollment for aquatics programs, including summer and annual pool memberships, swim lessons, swim team, water fitness, etc.
- Sales and processing of point-of-sale items
- Understand and actively cross-sell all JCC programs and services (ex. preschool, camp after school, swimming, adults, volunteers, fundraising events,, etc.)
- Help to troubleshoot and resolve member questions/concerns/special circumstances.
- Stay informed of party/pool rental schedules and assist customers to ensure satisfaction
Administration, Security & Maintenance
- Ensure prompt and efficient answering of JCC incoming phone calls
- Take messages for staff as needed
- Monitor front door ingress/egress
- Ensure staff/visitor/member compliance with JCC front door/sign-in policies
- Monitor member access to pool facilities, payment of guest fees
- Assist with enforcing all JCC safety/security/membership policies and procedures
- Intake and processing of cash, checks and credit card payments
- Assist with member-related administrative tasks as requested
- Ensure reception area is neat and clutter-free
- Clean reception areas and party room daily

Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience:
- Previous sales or customer service experience desirable
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and ability to learn/utilize membership database programs
