Recycling 101

Do you know what should be going in your Blue Bin at home? Recycling contamination and “wishful recycling” are big problems for local recycling partners in Asheville and can put recycling at risk.
“Contaminants like plastic bags can get into recycling that our vendor needs to sell, which can cause a load to be rejected or to earn a lower price,” said Asheville Solid Waste Director Jes Foster.
