Jewish Film Series

The JCC’s Jewish Film Series, led by Professor Barbara Weitz, takes a deep dive into Jewish and Israeli films with thoughtful discussion and analysis in a community setting. Each event includes a free showing of the film followed by a discussion and occurs on the third Sunday of the month.

November 21: More Alive Than Dead

More Alive Than Dead presents a dialogue on the lasting influence of Sigmund Freud, noting society’s changing views over the decades. Tongue-in-cheek humor characterizes this examination of the “Freud Wars.”  With segments of hilarious animation, experts weigh in on his influence on psychoanalysis, literature, neurology, the LGBT community, the economy and feminism.
