This week, we will welcome special guest Alice Cohen from the US Forest Service
Topic: Our National Forests, L’dor V’dor (from generation to generation)
Alice Cohen grew up in Tampa and started an assignment with the Rocky Mountain Region of the US Forest Service planning team this winter. She had been the collaboration specialist for the Nantahala and Pisgah Forest plan revision process for the past 4 years. She also worked for the National Forests in North Carolina in conservation education and public affairs and for the Cherokee National Forest just over the state line as district recreation manager after starting her career on the Gila National Forest in SW NM as seasonal trail crew, wilderness ranger and conservation education specialist. Alice has lived in Asheville and been a member of CBHT for 21 years. She holds a BFA with a concentration in Natural Resources from the University of the South, Sewanee and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Western New Mexico University. Alice, her husband, John, and their sons, Bryson and Trenton, have been virtually schooling and working since early March. Getting out in the woods has helped them maintain their sanity through it all.
