Bright Star Children’s Theatre Presents: African Folktales

African Folktales is a 45 -minute production that brings to life the vastness of the African landscape and a variety of clever animals. Join Akili as she shares these exciting tales that were traditionally passed down by word of mouth. With imaginative costumes and lots of audience participation, this production also includes valuable character-education themes. Celebrate world cultures, literature and the art of interactive African storytelling with one of the brightest shows in the Bright Star repertoire! African Folktales is best appreciated by grades Pre-K through 5th. Each year, Bright Star Touring Theatre serves nearly 1,000 audiences in schools, theaters, libraries, museums and more across the country. They offer a wide variety of curriculum-based programs ranging from The Lady of Bullyburg to Heroes of the Underground Railroad. The company performs regularly at the National Theatre in Washington DC and has gained international support.
