Job Summary: The Associate Director of HR helps employees find their work home and fuel a vibrant community at the JCC. This position will coordinate an efficient and effective recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process; manage benefits; and foster a gratifying and enjoyable staff experience. As a member of the Finance Team, the Associate Director of HR is responsible for managing the human resource and benefits logistics for ~40 full‐time and 50 part‐time/seasonal employees each year.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Design and implement creative employee recruitment approaches for every department in coordination with program directors and Marketing and Communications Coordinator
- Work with each program director to respond to and vet applicants, schedule interviews, check references, and make offers
- Design and implement an automated new‐hire paperwork submission process
- Oversee and schedule onboarding for all new hires, including training on organization mission/vision, security, benefits, and use of payroll system
- Oversee operational database login credentials
- Create new employee files that meet all licensing standards based on each department’s needs and audit existing employee files to ensure they are complete
- Research and present to program directors automated staff scheduling tools
- Manage employee benefits and claims
- Coordinate 90‐day provisional period assessments
- Conduct exit interviews and process employee separation paperwork
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience building and supporting a positive staff culture
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources
Experience:
- 2+ years’ experience in human resources and benefits management
