The Mountain Xpress’ Give!Local campaign is now in full swing, and the JCC is proud to be a beneficiary of the program this year.
Give!Local is an initiative that fosters a community of giving and supports local nonprofits through Give!Local’s online donation platform. Give!Local aims to make giving easy by providing a single website where donors can choose among participating nonprofits and show their support by donating any amount from $1 to $20,000.
Give!Local is currently in its second year. Last year, the campaign raised over $37,000 for 30 local nonprofits, and this year the program has increased participating nonprofits to 47! Nonprofits that specialize in causes related to community, youth, animals, the arts, and the environment are among participating organizations. Profiles of each nonprofit are available on the Give!Local website as well as in the Give!Local program guide.
Give!Local’s fund drive runs from November 1 through December 31, and to make the giving experience more exciting, many local businesses have partnered with participating nonprofits to provide incentives for giving. Donors who give $20 or more get a voucher book offering giveaways and discounts from local businesses. Bigger donations earn additional rewards, and there are some exciting prize packages this year!

How to participate in Give!Local
- Check out the 47 participating nonprofits on the Give!Local website and learn about their missions and how they are helping make this a great community.
- Decide which nonprofits you want to give to, and how much, from $1 up to as much as you like. The site’s shopping cart will total what you’re giving to each nonprofit, allowing you to go back and adjust your amounts before you check out.
- Check out and pay with a credit card.
- You’re done! If you donate $20 or more, you’ll receive an incentive packet in the mail in January–unless you give $1000 or more, in which case, you will receive a hand-delivered bag of goodies to your home or business.
