Penny is coming back to help us culminate our year-long Tzedakah campaign with the WNC Nature Center!
At the beginning of the year, our animal friends visit us from the WNC Nature Center and tell us all about themselves! We learn about our turtle, snake, bird, and owl friends. They tell us what they need to be healthy and survive in WNC. Then, we put our pennies in our Tzedakah jars all year long to raise money for supplies for the non-profit community partner. It is customary for young Jewish children to save money in a “Tzedakah Jar” (sa-da-ka) and then give it away to instill the Jewish value of social justice at a young age. We have been partnering with the WNC Nature Center or similar groups for a few years to bring this important concept to the hearts and minds of our young children.
Join us on Friday, August 2, at 10 am outside in our ampitheater (weather permitting!) where Penny will make a special appearance and we can present our Tzedakah $ to our friends!
