The Theresienstadt Series: Embers & Stars: The Story of Petr Ginz

In 2013, inspired by the release of the documentary The Last Flight of Petr Ginz, a new project got under way that would reach from Chicago to the Czech Republic to Winston-Salem. The journey would produce a stage play telling the story of a young artist, Petr Ginz, one of many children condemned to the concentration camp in Terezin. Performance Designer, Wake Forest professor, Asst. Chair of Theater Dept , Rob Eastman-Mullins will recount his experience on the project as the key visual developer and designer of the production and on-site guide in the Czech Republic. Eastman-Mullins will detail the detective-like search through the streets of Prague, the visit to Petr’s room in Terezin, and coffee with Chava Pressburger, Petr’s sister who survived the war.
