As we approach the Jewish holiday of Passover, we are reminded of the journey (masa) that our ancestors took through the dessert. We are also reminded of the transformative journey that we underwent during that physical journey (golden calf, getting the 10 commandments to name a few things). Judaism calls upon us to understand that our individual life journeys are both reflected in and illuminated by the larger journeys of our people, and that our success in life depends as much upon integrity as it does upon our reaching our goals.
With integrity in mind, and our ongoing desire to help those in our community who need it, we will be gathering adult shoes and socks for the homeless in our community. These donations will be given to the homeless ministry run out of the Trinity Episcopal Church for distribution. A collection bin will be available in both our main building and at the aquatics center on Clyde Street now through the end of April.
As you map your personal journey this spring, please remember the journey that our ancestors embarked on generations ago for a life of freedom and prosperity, and let us help our community by helping them take their own journeys with integrity and safety.
