On Thursday, November 19 at 7:30 pm at the Fine Arts Theatre, 36 Biltmore Avenue, the Asheville JCC will host a screening of Why the J?, a film produced by Marty Gillen in honor of the JCC’s 75th Anniversary. The film features 60 people from the community sharing their thoughts about the history of the Asheville JCC and its impact. That evening will also be a book release for A Home in Shalom’ville: The History of Asheville’s Jewish Community, written by Sharon Fahrer documenting the history of Jews in Asheville. The screening will be followed by remarks by Fahrer and a talk back with Gillen. Tickets to the film screening are $10 each and proceeds will go to support JCC programs.
