Community Yom Hashoah – Holocaust Remembrance Day Observances:
Sunday, April 12, 4:00 pm.
You are invited to the Jewish community’s observance of Yom HaShoah on Sunday, April 12th, 4:00 pm at Congregation Beth HaTephila, 43 N. Liberty Street. Rubin Feldstein will be speaking about his experiences. Born in Zamosc, Poland, he escaped with his parents and sister. Most of his remaining extended family perished in the Holocaust. He will talk about his escape and the refugee experience, as well as his visit back to Poland eight years ago. The Kol Simcha choir will sing sacred music, there will be a community candle lighting ceremony and a recitation of the Kaddish. This is a free event, open to everyone.

On Thursday, April 16th, there will be a Yom Hashoah Reading of the Names on the steps of the UNC Asheville Ramsey Library from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
